chemo completed

my chemo is now complete. i was supposed to take it for 14 days. my bone marrow aspiration will be done in about 2-3 weeks and it will show whether the chemo worked. im hoping that with gods grace that this time everything will be alright.
the effects of chemo again have started to show. im lossing my appetite as my taste has changed. this a common side effect of chemo and happens to almost eveyone that is given chemo. it usally goes away after 2-3 weeks untill then about everything i eat tastes like it has bad flavour. the amount of saliva that is produed in the mouth also decreases so it becomes hard to swaollow. this is also a common side effect and also will go away after some time.

a very long day

today again we were in the hospital for about the whole day. we had alot of tests today. it was like almost every hr i had my blood drawn and my ECG done. it was a very long day and i got really tired. the doc said that were taking the tests to see how the medicine works. the chemo medicine that im taking now is new so to understand it better they have to do all the tests. its like they are experimenting on me to see how and what happens as they themseleves dont know either. i just hope the chemo works this time no matter how it works.
tomarrow again i have to go to the hospital for more tests. i think i will also get a blood and platelet transfusion.

fever is better

i came home yesterday evening as my fever was better but i still have to take my iv antibiotics. the doc also told me yesterday that they had found the bacteria in my blood that was causing the infection and fever. the bacteria is klebsela. now the antibiotics that im taking are for this bacteria. before they had found the bacteria they were just giving me broad spectrun antibiotics. it means that they were giving me antbiotics that usually kill alot of bacteria and hopefully it would also kill the bacteria that was causing my infection.
tomarrow again i have to go the hospital for my tests. i also have an appointment with my doc.
im feeling ok now and i hope the fever wont come back. i get so restless with the fever. taking chemo also gets me tired and then the fever makes it worse. but thank god the fever is down and i hope it stays down.
alot of known and unknown friends have helped me out in alot of ways. im very thankfull to all of these friends. thanks guys.

a hectic day

today had to go the hospital early so that the doc could start the new chemo medicine. i have to take the medicine by mouth but i cant eat anything 1-2 hrs before or after taking the medicine. it was a very hectic day. i had to get my blood drawn about every hour till 5pm so it means that they really took alot of my blood today. i also had to get an ECG of the heart for 2 times. i had to give urine sample after every 4 hrs. so the whole day i was so busy sometimes i had to go here sometimes there. it did get pretty tiring. it was like i was running around the whole hospital.
tomarrow again i have to go the hospital to get my medicine. i hope it wont be that much hectic.

chemo didnt work much

after feeling weak for a couple of days im feeling a bit ok. its like one min i will ok and the next i feel as i have no energy at all. its like i have no control over my body sometimes without even doing any thing i get all tired like i had so much of work.

on friday we had a appointment with the doc and he told us that the chemo didnt really work as my blasting (cancer cells) didnt decrease much. they barely decreased by 10%. the doc said they would try another type of chemo next week to decrease the cells. im just praying to god this new chemo will work and make all cancer cells zero.
tomarrow i again have to go the hospital to get my lab test done to see the blood counts.

cause of infection still not found

im getting a bit tired with all the docs coming one after the other to see what could the cause of the fever. i just hope they find the cause soon i just want to go home its hard staying the hospital for so long.
one GIT doc(stomach doc) came to see and he said he would do a test to see if there is an infection in the stomach region leading to the rectal region. the will probabely be on monday. the rectal pain is increasing day by day. it used to pain only during passing stool but now the pain has becoming almost all the time.
my Hb and platelets had decreased so i got 1 platelet transfusion and 2 blood transfusions. the chemo kills the cancer cells but along with cancer cell it also effects the good blood cells so im getting blood almost nowdays on a regular bases.
